This Gordon Conference was a huge success. Thanks to the speakers, discussion leaders, and poster presenters for a stimulating and forward-looking conference. 105 scientists attended the meeting (the last time attendance was over 100 was 1996), a testament to the importance of defects in semiconductors and the quality of the scientific program.
This is an archival web site. See our picture gallery (thanks to P. Fochuk). Stay tuned for the next Gordon Conference, to be held in summer 2010.
Continuing its tradition of excellence, this Gordon Conference will focus on research at the forefront of the field of defects in homogeneous and structured semiconductors. The program consists of about twenty invited talks, with plenty of discussion time, and a number of contributed poster sessions. Because of the large amount of discussion time, the conference provides an ideal forum for dealing with topics that are new and/or controversial.
Everyone who wishes to attend must submit an application form. Attendance at the Gordon Conference is limited. We therefore strongly encourage you to apply online as soon as possible at the GRC web site (see registration).
Participation by young scientists (graduate students, postdocs, and junior faculty) is encouraged. A limited amount of financial support is available.
In addition to the invited program there will be poster sessions to further stimulate information exchange and discussion among the participants. Anyone attending the conference may present a poster (see posters).
The title, authors, and a brief abstract of your poster should be sent to the Vice Chair by July 13, 2008.
