MATHEMATICAL PHYSICS

The fields have Physics and Mathematics have developed hand in hand. Many new mathematical fields were developed to solve problems that Physicists encountered. This program builds on that interaction and the fact that all Physics programs require sufficient Math that not much more is required to meet the requirements for a second degree in Mathematics. This also has the advantage of opening career options that are open only to holders of the Mathematics degree.

The MATHEMATICAL PHYSICS OPTION is designed for those individuals who intend to pursue advanced degrees in the Physical Sciences or Mathematics and it will also serve those individuals who wish to enter the job market directly in a position requiring a background in Physics and/or Mathematics. The successful conclusion of this program will yield a Bachelor of Science in Physics Degree along with a second major in Mathematics.

OPTION G: MATHEMATICAL PHYSICS

(This program yields a Bachelor of Science in Physics Degree with a second major in Mathematics)

NOTES:

1: GER = General Education requirements (see the University Bulletin).
